The exhibition portrays the development of media arts by showcasing pivotal pioneering works that utilize technical devices: from photography to cinematography and sound art, the theater of machines and projections, radiophonic and televisual art, the art video, media-based action and Fluxus arts, and the networked and collaborative artistic practices of the last decades.

Die Ausstellung zeigt die Entfaltung medialer Künste anhand bedeutender Pionierarbeiten im Bereich der apparativen Kunst: von der Fotografie über die Kinematografie zur Klangkunst, das Theater der Maschinen und der Projektionen, die radiophone oder televisuelle Kunst, das künstlerische Video, die medial basierten Aktions- und Fluxuskünste bis hin zu den vernetzten und kollaborativ angelegten künstlerischen Praxen der letzten Jahrzehnte.
